Facebook: Shutting down?

January 11, 2011 – Facebook is shutting down! This has been an issue over the weekend as this bogus announcement which was reported by some publications spread. Records search shows that the said news came from a fake news website Weekly World News (WWN) which is known for "(covering) events that seem to occur in a parallel universe. A fictitious quote from Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg was even released saying, “The stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness... I don't care about the money... I just want my old life back."

Facebook Director of Corporate Communications Larry Yu also confirmed that this was all false news and he is appealing to do please stop this idiocy.

Background checking WWN, they started as a tabloid, as they stated on their website. I think they are just making their news just to get the attention of the readers even if it is fiction. One of their latest headlines includes, “Allien Spaceships to Attact Earth in 2011”, George Clooney to Run for President”, and Michelle Obama Pregnant!”

For those Facebook Addicts you shouldn’t worry anymore Facebook which is said to be shutting down this March 2011 was all bogus information. As what they had posted on their Facebook Official Fan Page: "We aren't going anywhere; we're just getting started."
